Books are amazing. Like Tony Robbins has said: "Reading is the fastest way to condense decades of an author's experience into days", which is why I always take make sure I take the time to read and learn.

Today, I'm launching a new series called the Entrepreneur Book Club where I share with you my favourite books that have helped me throughout my entrepreneurial journey. In today's inaugural episode, I'm sharing my top 7 books for STARTUP FOUNDERS.

The reason for picking these 7 books are simple; I wish I had read these while I was starting out Click Funnels! These selections that I've picked cover several topics and challenges that every startup founder will face: Should I build a completely remote company? Should I take on VC funding? How do I get the message of my company or product to the masses? These were some of questions that I had, and these books helped me answer them or change my way of thinking to solve problems.

If you're a startup founder, I hope this selection of books helps you as much as it did for me.

Looking forward to reading these recommendations.

I have loved the book Essentialism. It has helped me many times to realize where to focus as life throws many options at us.

  2. Michael Southwell on September 10, 2021 at 1:06 am

Great book recommendations! Thanks for sharing. One the most impactful books for me was Get Off Your But by Sean Stephenson. It’s really helped me stay focused and to continue working on my business when I wanted to give up and felt like it was all getting too hard.

This is a great list of books. Like Shoe Dogs, I liked Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance. Seeing that their companies went through the same problems and struggles that I have, put things in a new perspective. They were all startups at one time too

  4. Sergio Cadena on September 10, 2021 at 2:44 am

Thanks for the recommendations! Will definitely read. A long time ago I read Awaken the Giant Within by TR. After reading it I was finally able to overcome negative beliefs.

Thanks Russell, my favorite business book ? is called “The Learn Startup” it gave a blueprint on how to ultimately start and grow a start up company, when to pivot and when to scale

I am always wanting to hear what others are reading. Thanks, Russell! My new favorite book is JLD’s baby: The Common Path to Uncommon Success. It blew my mind how he broke down step-by-step to get a product up and going. I think with Russell’s Secret Series and this book it has been my go-to for starting a business and getting a jumpstart where others have already been.

Extreme Ownership – As a young start up founder with a small team, ownership, taking responsibility for the good and bad is something I am learning and growing in. I appreciate this so much Russell! Thanks for all you share and do for our community.

If I could have asked you 1 question, this would have been it! Thanks for always sharing content that makes my business and life better!

  9. Raunak Singh on September 10, 2021 at 5:12 am

My favourite book is “SO GOOD THAT THEY CAN’T IGNORE YOU”

the book is about that there is no such thing as passion you have to learn to love the work you do and soon you will know what you are good at ?

    • jeremiah johnson on September 18, 2021 at 3:36 pm

Cal Newport is my favorite author, I would highly recommend his book deep work

  10. Esthefany Guillermo on September 10, 2021 at 11:12 am

My favorite book is definitely Traffic secrets by Russel Brunson, I love how he explains concepts that are sometimes not easy to understand in a totally conversational way by adding personal events related to a certain topic! It really changed my view on my business! Thanks Russel!

  11. Sheehan Rahman on September 10, 2021 at 3:13 pm

I love “Zero to One” by peter thiel, who believes startups investing on innovating on new products will help advance the world more than copies of great ideas.

  12. Ron Williams on September 10, 2021 at 5:08 pm

Great new series, Russell! Glad to hear the ones that were most impactful to you!! Thanks for sharing.

  15. Geoff Brown on September 11, 2021 at 3:38 am

The One Thing by Gary Keller was the first book I read when I started my entrepreneur journey and it totally helped me focus on the moat important tasks.

  16. Harry Reynolds on September 11, 2021 at 6:40 am

Thanks for the recommendations Russell… very good books all of them indeed… I personally like “Shoe Dog” from Phil Knight, as it really shows the story of an entrepreneur… not only does Phil show us what’s like to build a business from scratch, but also he becomes “vulnerable” and opens up with his ups and downs from his personal life, wins and tragedies… just like
Brene Brown says: “vulnerability is not weakness, it’s our greatest measure of courage.”

  17. Fathul Bari on September 13, 2021 at 5:07 am

Loved how you shared your favourite lines from the books…it made me more interested to read them ❤️

  18. Dustin on September 15, 2021 at 1:01 am

One of my favorite books is “Purple Cow” by Seth Goden, because standing out like a purple cow in the huge field of brown cows is absolutely crucial.

  19. Sherifa Nakalema on September 17, 2021 at 1:31 am

These are all unique books, I had not heard of some. Definitely going to get the ones I don’t have. Great seeing you doing this Russell!

  20. Carlos Reyes Balza on September 19, 2021 at 8:23 am

Thanks Russell. Amazing video. One of my favourite business books is called “Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable” by Seth Godin, and the reason I love it is because it teaches you how to create truly irresistible products, products that truly over deliver the results you’re customers want to achieve, create a ton of raven fans (cult-ure spreaders) and make them always wanting to come back for more.
