How to Create a Separate Page for Blog Posts in WordPress
WordPress displays your content in a blog format on the homepage normally but not all sites should be displayed that way. Some sites you want to display a welcome page or other custom content but can still find use for your posts. In this video we will show you how to create a separate page for blog posts in WordPress.
You would want to start by creating two new pages on your site one to be the new home page and another to be the page where you list your blog posts. For the home page you will want to add whatever content to it that you want someone visiting your site to see first. For the posts page you will want to leave that blank for your posts to be added to the page.
With the pages set up you will now go back to your admin area under Settings, Reading. From this page you can set your separate blog page by changing how your home page is displayed to a static page where you can set your home and posts page to the pages you want.
Now that you have set your page for blog posts you will need to ensure there is a method to find your posts. Under Appearance, Menus you can add the pages to your menu and ensure to include them in your menu and the menu display checkbox is checked. With that you now have a separate page for your blog posts in WordPress.

How to create a page with posts from specific category?
If you add a category into your menu as shown in our article: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-navigation-menu-in-wordpress-beginners-guide/
then it will generate a page listing posts from that specific category.
Great video! Thank you!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Thank you for this!!!!
Thank you for the tutorial and I already have done that. I have set up one static page and my blog page. My question is how do I do it when having a Guest blogger.
I like to have the post from my guest contributor separately from my blogroll.
Can I do, once again, set up a page i.e. “Guest Post” where the posts from the contributor will be displayed there?
I am using the “Twenty Thirteen” theme.
Thank you for your advice.
If their posts are under a specific category you could add a category page to have a list of every post in that category: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-navigation-menu-in-wordpress-beginners-guide/
or create a custom post type for your guest posts:

I can’t seem to get the tutorial, I can’t seem to find a couple of these settings such as “screen options”. Is it wordpress outdated or what? Can someone help! Thanks.
For the video, WordPress has had some updates since this video but the main change would be the post editor which we cover in our article here: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-use-the-new-wordpress-block-editor/
