Once upon a time, I used to actually iron my Levis with a crease. 3 or 4 decades ago that was what the “cowboy” garb was based on. Crisp ironed shirts with pearl snaps and creased Levis… Changed a lot over the years.
I am another who was taught by my mother.
This is so funny and right up my alley. I have always loved ironing…my mother noticed how interested I was in watching her so taught me at the age of ten. Once I became proficient she let me take over the task of ironing my father’s shirts, even his dress shirts for the office. I took a lot of pride in that and fifty years later still enjoy ironing. My dad taught me how to care for shoes and I got such a kick out of polishing the entire family’s shoes. Yeah, I’m a little weird. Appearance is important and knowing how to select and care for clothing and leathers can really elevate your look. I personally believe that quality footwear is the most important item you can own. I grew up around some very wealthy people and they always had gorgeous handcrafted shoes, boots, bags. Since then I’ve believed that it’s better to have a single pair of fabulous shoes than a half dozen pair of mediocre ones. But maybe that’s just me. Cheers!
Fascinating
Lol, I’m assuming Ramit is quarantining.
Never. Buy. Cotton.
I used to iron. Now I’m lazy. I get my clothes from the dryer and hang them in my closet or fold them and store them in the drawer.
I’m so glad 100% of my wardrobe is now non iron. Saves me so much valuable time.
