Is Google Analytics Installed Twice? (Find Out Now)

Multiple site owners and users have had this question and it can throw off your site's tracking information. In this video, we will show you how to check if you are counting your traffic twice in Google Analytics.

The simplest method for checking this would be to install and activate the MonsterInsights plugin. Then under Tools, Site Health, MonsterInsights will scan your site to check if you have more than one code on your site.

For the second resource we cover in this video, you can see the MonsterInsights guide we recommend below which includes links to the browser addon:

The first place to check would be if you use a plugin like Insert Headers and Footers plugin to check if you have a duplicate of the script pasted into the plugin's header area.

The second most common location to check would be under Appearance, Theme Editor, and navigate to your theme's header.php file to check for the Google Analytics code there.
